Mountain Bike riding has had a big influence on my life and the business as well, evidenced by the bikin-bug logo on my cards and invoices. Riding buddy Dan Dunn did the logo for me and did and excellent job on it.

I raced downhill for a while and proud to be Ca. State Champion in the Sport class in 1996, and 3rd expert in 1997.(Wow, that was a long time ago) I am an active member of the Southern Sierra Fat Tire Association (SSFTA) and the Kern Wheelmen bike club. I had the appointed duty of being the race director for the Keyesville Classic and the Rio-Bravo Rumble bike races for 2006.

I don’t race as much now and having a good time going to different fun locations to ride. Like Moab Utah, Hawaii!!, Downieville and Mammoth Ca. My wife Kathy and I ride mountain bikes as well as a Tandem bike together and have done the Lighthouse 100 mile ride, Spooktacular 80 miler, and several other long-distance rides together. She likes to go fast and our top speed so far is 54.1 MPH!

Chris rode on the tandem with me to do the Kern Wheelmen 25 mile Spooktacular and a Poker run. He won $45.00! He hasn’t had the chance to ride with us lately as he has spent three summers in a row working at Camp Kern. The SSFTA donated $1000.00 of the proceeds from the Keyesville race to the Boy Scouts Camp Kern this year. We also gathered up all the Camp Kern Boy Scout mountain bikes and repaired and adjusted them for their summer program.
